The MITRE Corp Internship

Over the summer of 2015, I worked at The MITRE Corp in McLean Virginia in the Center for Advanced Aviation Systems Development (CAASD). I worked on two projects: (1) I developed an image smoothing algorithm in C++ for coupling aircraft state data with image generation software to aid in out-the-window views during real-time flight simulation driven by in-house Flight Management Computers (FMCs). (2) I developed tools to permit the prototyping of new features on closed-source FMCs leveraging Java and an internal network communication protocol to permit bidirectional data transmission for selective display on a Swing GUI.
